sufferer, 30s, wheelchair bound, f, no cath yet, nor previously, been toying w/ idea of it for long while. my parents aren't happy w/ decision @ all!
when i need to pee, i get all hot, feel ill, shake, i snap at people & i'm unable to talk/concentrate. when i don't need to pee i can talk & move fine, though due to cp very stiff. staff in care home where i live very understanding but run ragged. sometimes they can't get to mebefore it all comes out.
went for scan, found bladder is so small it might as well not exist. it can hold 300ml, the size of 1 of the plastic cups i use for my tea. i drink a lot.
the blue leaflet the urology dept gave me tells me a lot, but nxt to nothing that i want to know. will it hurt afterwards? will i feel like i'm wetting chair/bed?? will I be expected to empty it myself (I can't even open of those sports bottles, my wrists don't rotate) what if i need to open my bowels (which are ok) but i don't realise it??
