Hello folks. New user here looking into getting some input regarding a lightweight, or possibly an ultra if budget allows.
A little background. I am 45 years old, have post-polio. I have spinal deformation but can walk short distances until I have to take a breather. I use a mobility scooter to scoot around with family at the mall or ballparks but loading it and unloading it in a SUV gets old. My goal is to be able to load/unload this wheelchair at will when I feel like the walk is going to be too long. I have good arm strength but is not tested in wheeling, might need some work :)
I've been been browsing the forums and have seen the TiLite and the Icon and some other chairs. The Icon seems to be the suggested chair for the newbies since it allows for adjustments. This nice feature comes with a high price tag. Is there something similar or other chairs I should be looking at? I'm only about 5'.
I will probably have to add to this since I can't remember all of my questions at the moment. Oh and the chair would have to be paid out of pocket since I'm not sure my insurance will cover.
