These are my questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1. My actual seat width is 14.5" so an inch or so on either side puts me at 17" but I don't mind the extra 1" width since my previous chair was a bit wide and I'd rather have it a bit wider at 18" than too narrow and my camber angle will be 4? this time not 0?. I don't think the extra 1" width is a big deal. Is it?
2. I was told that your seat depth should be 2" shorter than the distance from the back of your back to the back of your knees which in my case is 19". This puts me at 17" which is the cut off between a short frame (max. 16" depth) and a long frame (19" max. depth). So, I'm thinking the short frame with a depth of 16" is what I should get. I am 6" 0" but I am considered to be an L2 para with excellent core strength and I'm not worried about leaning forward to pick up stuff off of the floor. Also, my seat dump will be 2" and this will probably put me (I will sink) a bit further back in my backrest by about an inch or so and I'm really trying to avoid having the back of my knees resting against my seat cushion. Therefore, I think I should get the shorter frame with a seat depth of 16". If I am wrong please tell me why.
3. I am also wondering about my choice of seat dump of 2" combined with a camber angle of 4? since I had zero for both on my previous chair. I have played wheelchair basketball in a chair with similar seat dump but with a lot more camber angle and I found it to be a much better fit. What is the relationship between seat dump and camber angle. Will this chair be "too tippy" for an everyday chair? The good thing about this chair is that both (seat height and camber angle) are adjustable. Is this something where you won't really know until you try it?
4. My last question is about dealers in my area. I live near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and the Colours website is trying to tell me that my nearest dealer is in Moose Jaw (Yes, that is the actual name of a town), Saskatchewan. That can't be right. Edmonton has over a million residents and Calgary, Alberta has 1.2 million residents, whereas Moose Jaw is a very small city by comparison. Does anyone know of a Colours dealer in the province of Alberta?
That's it. Let me know what you think.
