Hello,
My mother is 68 years young. She was diagnosed with syringomyelia when she was approximately 50 years old. She lives in cincinnati, ohio with my Dad and her husband. She's been told that surgery is a last ditch option because of the chances for paralysis. She's in a tremendous amount of pain. She walks with a cane, one of her legs will buckle and has weakness. She says she experiences a weird like electrical tingling sensation in her upper legs. She can't walk, stand, or sit for very long. It affects one of her arms now. I believe she has been diagnosed with two syrinxs, one located in her mid-back area and one up in her neck. How can I help her get the medical help she needs? I believe she needs to see a doctor who is confident about performing the surgery and conveys that to her. Can you help me?
Thank you,
Juliet Scott
