Have any of you guys had this experience? I started getting biweekly testosterone shots in late June on the advice of my rehab doctor to cope with my fatigue issue. I felt fantastic through July and into mid August, now I'm back to feeling tired and no energy. The thing is this is the second time around I've had this happen. Did the shots a few years ago, felt great for a few months and then the positive effect stopped so my family Dr. decided to discontinue them because family history of both prostate cancer & heart disease.
Sorry I don't know my dosage info at the moment and I also don't know what the level of free testosterone was when I got tested before starting in June. I'm T11/12 incomplete with Spina Bifida, 46 years old. I've had fatigue issues for the last 10 years and the testosterone is the only thing that seems to help but then it stops working. I've been tested for all the usual stuff that can cause fatigue like iron & thyroid issues and tests showed every as being normal. Was diagnosed with complex sleep apnea and treated with c-pap and oxygen at night, didn't make one bit of difference as far as improving my energy or fatigue.
Should my Dr. be ordering another free testosterone test to check levels? Should something else be tested that she might have missed? The only change that has happened med wise is a increase from 20mg a day to 30mg a day of Prozac. Would a uti or another infection negate the positive effects of testosterone over a longer period. I remember having a few uti's the last time but we kept going with the testosterone for a good couple of months after that & things didn't improve. This time around I had a infected foot which was treated by antibiotics. Have had two shots since the last infection cleared up but no improvement at all, back to feeling tired and lacking energy.
