Ok, so 8 years into this sci, t-10-11, supposedly complete, never been to a sci specialists as they don't exist in my area. I use intermittent cath and nothing for bowels. I have from day one and till this day, can tell when my bladder is getting full and i need to cath or soon will need to. in rehab I could even tell the amount before i drained the bladder and be pretty close to what came out. I can also tell when i have to poop and I don't take anything for bowels. I can hold it for a while if even needed. I sit on the toilet and can "push" the poop out for the most part. I go regularly, about the same time every day and sometimes twice a day if i eat a lot that day.
Just wondering if anyone else can do this? My doctors swear i cannot feel anything or poop on my own, even though i squeezed out a turd for a stool sample while at an office visit. I've only had 1 uti just a few weeks ago from a stone passing(second time since sci) and Ct scan showed my bowels were empty, so i must not be retaining much stool in my colon, but yet the doctors still say there is no way I can poop on my own.
