I fortunately didn't even know about synthetic weed until like a week ago. Then I read the news story about the guy ripping his own out, killing his dogs and his wife and at first I was like "Wait...what? He smoked weed and then did this?" I smoke weed pretty regularly and I'd never heard of synthetic marijuana. I think the public needs to know there's a difference and the news sites aren't making it that clear IMHO. Here's an article that compares the effects of marijuana with the effects of synthetic weed. It opened my eyes to the misunderstandings that other people might be confused about when reading news.
