T6 complete, ASIA A, 3 1/2 years post - Ever since my injury, with no trunk control, I have had the tendency to slouch to the left. I think it started because I use my right hand way more for doing things than my left. So when I use my right hand I have to lean to the left to compensate/balance. The main problem this is causing is pressure issues. I let my roho air pressure get down too low last year and got a pressure sore on my left ischium because I put more weight on that side. So it took about 6 months to heal, but the skin is still very thin/fragile. I use an ADI 4" deep contour backrest which gives me some lateral support, but the top of my backrest is below my injury level so I can't really "feel" it. And I use a Ride designs cushion now, so my ischia (sp?) are floating and this cushion doesn't allow for much movement at all, its pretty stiff. So I don't think it has to do with the way I sit since my hips can really move at all in this cushion. But I have had my hips checked out by my PT, and everything is fine/straight, no obliquities. I'm sure there are others that have this issue. What have you done that has helped?
