I have an old VB6 program which downloads daily stock market data from a data vendor and writes to the individual data files after some analysis and conversion. It had been working properly and fast under Win 8.1 until recently. About 10 days ago it suddenly slowed down considerably. I am an advanced user and an amateur programmer without computer background. Using major test software, I checked my hardware and found no problems. I installed Win 10. Result is the same. I installed Visual Basic Studio 6.0 and run the program from within the project. It runs very fast, but when I compile the same project it runs very slow. I suspect a recent Windows update. I would appreciate help. Thanks.
