Getting Enough Protein is Hard

I've been laying in bed for months/weeks trying to heal this darn pressure wound with a wound vac. It looks like I may have osteomyelitis, so after that is taken care of I'll have to start all over again to heal the wound, and worse, with IV antibiotics that will probably make me sick to my stomach.

As it is now I am having an extremely hard time eating. Laying on my stomach/side is not doing much for digestion, and I feel most of the time like I have a bowling ball in my stomach. Eating is such a huge challenge that I dread each meal. It takes me at least an hour to get down a container of yogurt and some cereal for breakfast, and drink a Boost drink. I feel sick and nauseous the whole time I'm eating. Each meal through the day is worse. I can only manage to eat the protein that is on my plate first, to ensure that I get it in, and the veggies and fruits are often thrown out or perhaps eaten much later, if at all. My hot meals are usually always cold by the time I finish. Ugh!

I know I need the minimum protein to help the healing and I'm keeping track and counting the protein content of everything I eat daily. I'm reaching, I think, about 135g of protein each day. Sometimes more, due to "hidden" uncounted proteins in the breads and snacks I may eat with each meal and at night.

It's really beginning to take a toll and I'm afraid I am developing some kind of eating disorder that makes me hate food. Has anyone else experienced this? And what did you do?

I'm trying to stay positive, but the unknown about the osteomyelitis (MRI is next Friday) is weighing heavily on my mind, as well as not being able to work, and the fact that I am going to be losing my job due to all of this, and therefore will lose my home, car, etc. My job isn't protected if I take long term disability. Its all beginning to be too much.
