Tramadol?

After many many years of suffering from peripheral neuropathy in my arm and hand I have tried different medications such as: Tylenol, Advil, Neurontin Cymbalta Lyrica nortriptoline etc. They either did not work or had unacceptable side effects. So recently my doctor at the pain clinic gave me a prescription for tramadol, 50mg, take 2 every 8 hours or as necessary.

Is anyone here taken tramadol and had success with that or is there anything I should be aware of that might be sinister?
