Hi!
30 y/o c6 son has a Permobil C300 which is fine, but limits his mobility somewhat:
-Cannot get it into my Scion XB and I cannot buy a WC van, no way, no how.
-We want a manual chair so he can ride in a car for times when he wants to go someplace the public/medical transport won't go, so he can stay out past 8pm (the latest wheelchair transport for crying out loud!), in addition to being able to drag it over to the bed and transfer -- not something possible with the C300. As he cannot keep the C300 and a table, laptop, drinks, etc., near the bed.
Why reclining: he's got blood pressure issues. These were preexisting paralysis and have only worsened. So if he can recline a bit while he waits for meds to kick in, it's a big help.
We've been to the local DME which showed us some granny chairs that appeared to be POS and a TiLite that they would fix the back on into x degrees. Neither seems like an ideal solution.
I've been googling a bit, but figured I would turn to you guys, the Google of everything SCI.
