A concern I have before getting the flap

I have two stage 4 decubitus wounds, one I have had for many years that I have mentioned here before and another that I had caused and developed last year. The newer of the two had worsened very fast and I soon developed Osteomyelitis which between that and also getting ESBL I have been in and out of the hospital all year.

About a month before I got ESBL as I was in the nursing home with a foley catheter on I decided to lay on my stomach and see if I would feel comfortable. I didn't let the nurses know that I was going to so. I check to see if there were kinks and everything seemed fine. It was not long after though that it backed up on me and caused me to shake, throw up and my temperature to rise to 102.7 very quickly.

Now for my concern. After the flap, or flaps as I would be getting both done at the same time I will be on my stomach of course for a few months and don't need another catheter problem like that to happen to me again especially during the healing process.

Have others here heard or had this problem happen to them?

I don't know if it was just my luck that one time or if it would be possible that it could happen to me again. Which is why I am concerned.

Foley catheters are not the norm for me as I straight cath.
